You know how Anthony Wint got a 30 second knockout on the Contender Series just to fight 2 weeks later, well we basically have the same thing here with Bilal Hasan. He had a 45 second knockout a few weeks ago on the Contender Series, and now here is in the big show.
i know Bilal is a hyped prospect and the fact that the UFC threw him on this card so quickly tell you that. They absolutely want him to get another showcase win. So when I went down the tape study rabbit hole i saw everything I would expect to see in Bilson, he's very good. Then I jumped into Rojas' tape study and I DID NOT see what I expected. I thought he would suck. But he doesn't. Dude is fast, hits hard, manages range well and didn't just fight on the other side of the planet a few weeks ago. I'm going to pick Bilal because I do think he is a special kind of of talent, but this dude fought on the other side of the earth 3 weeks ago, will be cutting the weight twice, adjusting to timezones and managing the emotions that come with all of this. zero percent chance you catch me spending 5-1 money on this fight. I'm just going to watch and enjoy.
Bilal Hasan
Bilal Hasan is a very good striker with tons of kicks and tons of power. He isn't chaotic, of course he is fast and athletic, but he is actually very composed with great range management and fantastic accuracy. He can grapple as well and does a nice job catching kicks or shooting clean. If you decide to grapple him, you're going to have to work becaus ehe has fantastic scrambles and hip control.
Nilson Rojas
Nilson Rojas is a is a fast forward pressure striker who throws power and throws it often. He stalks his opponents down and then enters the pocket with 3 or 4 punch combos. He loves hooks to the body and then up to the head in the same exchange. He actually throws so hard that he has spun himself around on misses but when he connects he can put people clean out. Not a ton of grappling, but mostly because he hasn't needed it
