We are only a few years removed from Beneil's incredible 8 fight win streak where the MMA community had him crowned as the unofficial lightweight champion. But since that streak he has lost 3 times and 3 times by finish. He is a shel lof who he used to be. His chin is gone, is cardio is sub par and we can't lean on him to get fights to the ground where he should have a tremendous advantage. Now I don't want to be too down on him because theres an argument to be made that the last 3 people to beat and finish Beniel would do the exact same thing to Quillan. I am still going to lean Quillan here because his is a sniper on the feet, has incredible power and hopefully the BJJ is good enough to avoid trouble if they end up on the ground. I love Beniel, I'll root for Beneil, but this is likely the end of the road for him in any sort of ranked fight.
Beneil Dariush
Beneil Dariush is very good everywhere with great power and control. He averages a little more than 2 takedowns per fight and is a no-gi BJJ world champion. We have seen him beat people with grappling, like Tony Ferguson and Diego Ferreira as well as striking like Scott Holtzman and James Vick. And you may not rexognize those names because it has been a while since we have seen a showcase win out of him. He is one of the best scramblers this division has ever had, but is starting to age out. He is coming off the sKO loss to BSD
Quillan Salkilld
Quillan Salkilld is a good striker who uses kicks really well to manage range and work the body. As soon as you are comfortable striking with him, he will lower his level and shoot. He's a BJJ blackbelt and overall a very well rounded guy who can fight at distance or in the pocket. He is perfectly fine with an ugly fight but at times can chase a finish instead of settling in. He is coming off the first round submission win over Jamie Mullarkey
