Allen Frye vs. Guilherme Pat

FRYE VS PAT

This is a weird fight to be on an actual UFC card and not the Contender Series. If this isn't a view into how desperate the UFC is for a viable heavyweight, then I don't know what is. Two guys who that have been fighting Billy Bobs at the local bar managed to work themselves into the world's premium MMA organization. That's how bad the heavyweight division is right now. Either way this could be a fun fight, at least they are both strikers and have decent cardio. The pick will be Allen because of the raw athleticism, but Guillherme is actually the better fighter, he just doesn't turn it on.

Allen Frye

Allen AJ Frye striker with decent power and a willingness to throw. He is pretty green in MMA but evolving relatively quickly. He is big, fast, strong and very athletic. He is will faster and more agile than most heavyweights and while he evolves, will rely on that athleticism. He definitely has some defensive wrestling holes but he does a good job working up if he is taken down. on the feet he pumps a nice jab and throws power behind it.

Guilherme Pat

Guilherme Pat is fast, jacked and a solid striker. He has a wide karate style stance and is constantly bouncing on his toes before he leaps into his strikes. It's not a style you typically see with heavyweights but it is working for him so far. His ability to bounce in, strike, then bounce back out is impressive. His takedown defense however is not impressive. Neither is his sense of urgency. While you will get flashes of activity from him, he is also perfectly fine being held against the cage.
