Part of me wants to sit here and say of course Alexander wins. He’s fighting a 42 year old who is coming back after a bad injury and 2 years away. But then the other part of me watched Alex’s last fight. That part saw Alex get walked down, out struck and out grappled by someone who fights somewhat similarly to RDA. It’s not insane to think that RDA can come forward, shoot takedowns and grind out a typically slow starting Alexander. With that being said, I can’t in my right mind pick an injured 42 year old on a 2 year layoff coming down in weight. Alex has to be the pick, but we are going to really need him to start working early and not just sit back waiting for the action to come to him, because if he does that, he will end up on his back like he was in his last 5 losses.
Alexander Hernandez
Alexander Hernandez is very well rounded but wildly inconsistent. He is very explosive with actual skills. He is a solid wrestler and a well rounded athlete. He has speed, cardio and power. He was on a 4 fight win streak with back to back KOs, but did just lose to Rafa Garcia in a fight where he did not like backing up and was taken down.
Rafael dos Anjos
Rafael Dos Anjos is the former lightweight champion of the world. He is incredibly well rounded but is a grappler at heart. He’s developed clean striking with some solid volume that will trick people into thinking he will strike with them before he starts working his grappling. He is very good everywhere and has the fight IQ of a 42 year old former champion with 48 fights. He is coming off the injury loss to Geoff Neal where he went up in weight but went down when he tore his ACL
