Dominic Reyes has had a bit of a career resurgence these last few years. but if you look a little closer, it isn’t quite what its made out to be. He beat Dustin Jacoby which is solid, but Dustin’s chin has faded over the years and then he beats an old man and a chinny Krylov before getting KO’d and then getting a bad decision in a boring fight against Johnny Walker. I think at his core, Dominic is the same guy he always has been, a big athletic dude who lacks a chin. This is not the fight you want to be in with no chin. I know Murzakanov just lost, but that was a back and forth fight against an absolute savage in Paolo Costa. i think Azamat comes forward, throws hard and ultimately lands. Dominic Reyes is too chinny to play around and doesn’t have good enough wrestling to change it up if things aren’t going well. The pick is Murzakanov but we cant ignore that both of these guys are closer to 40 than 30.

Dominick Reyes

Dominick Reyes is one of the few people I have seen pull his career out of a death spiral. After losing a close fight to Jon Jones he was knocked out 3 times in a row, just to come back and rattle off a few wins. Style wise he is a powerful striker who uses his length really well. He has good takedown defense, solid foot work and the occasional offensive takedown. He is coming off the questionable decision win over Johnny Walker that moved Johnny to heavyweight.

Azamat Murzakanov

Azamat Murzakanov is not the biggest light heavyweight in the division but has legit power. He is fast and heavy handed with a knockdown in 7 of his 8 UFC fights. He is a good wrestler with solid ground and pound but his hands are so good that he doesn’t go to it often. He is coming off the KO loss to Paolo Costa where he lost the first round, won the second but ultimately broke under the pressure.
