A lot of people are just going to willy nilly throw Felipe Franco into parlays but you need to be careful. Yes, I think he wins, and yes I realize Ribeiro has lost 4 in a row, but this is almost a battle of the quit button. We have seen both of them just fold under pressure. Felipe should win because he can get takedowns and can be physically imposing here, but Brendson, as we saw in his last, doesn’t care. He was taken down 8 times and still landed more significant strikes. Felipe will be the pick, but anyone betting him will need to be hoping and praying he doesn’t slow down and end up on his own back.
Felipe Franco
Felipe Franco is a grappler who wings punches like crazy, then shoots a takedown and then chills. He has finishes on his record but they are mostly against horrendous competition. He has solid top control when he is on the ground with good pressure. His striking is pretty bad but he throws hard. Physically he is a beast but he can be more hammer than nail, as we saw on the Contender Series when he lost a fight that he was winning with 12 seconds left. He is coming off TKO win over Levi Rodrigues Jr.
Brendson Ribeiro
Brendson Ribeiro is an offensive striker with solid grappling. He likes to move forward and get his hands going but is very hittable. His takedowns are mediocre but if a fight does end up on the ground he is very aggressive and hunts for submissions. He is dangerous on top but not so much off his back. While Ribeiro has a pretty well rounded offense, he does have a quit button and can be finished. He is coming off the decision loss to Magomed Tuchalov where he was aggressive early but slowed down.
