We head into week 2 of our NFL season and there are some pretty fun matchups once again. We are monitoring a few of the injuries to see who is gonna miss and create some value for us, but other than that we will be looking to find some spots take advantage of salary pricing and hit value.
QUARTERBACKS
Lamar Jackson – $7300 – 6%
Lamar is a fantasy goon, no surprise here. This week he is matching up with a very middle of the road defense, and one that gives up a fair amount of leeway on the ground. It is likely that Jackson will see success on the ground and through the air in a game where the Raven’s are favored by 9 points. No Flowers or Lane, so very much expect him to use his legs to extend drives like last week.
Dak Prescott – $6400 – 17%
Last week wasn’t great for Dak and the boys, which makes this week a fantastic bounce back week for one of the NFL’s best offenses. The push us even further in that direction, the Commanders defense is almost as bad as the Cowboys, but they don’t have the offense to hang in the score for score game. Dak should put up a DFS week that is more in line with his normal output.
Tyler Shough – $5300 – 3%
With Olave trending to play, we go back to Shough here who should once again be in a trailing game script and have all the opportunities to throw the rock. Kamara is back, Olave and Vele looked really good last week, and both TE looked good. This offense is going to be fun to target while they’re cheap (minus Olave)
RUNNINGBACKS
Bijan Robinson – $8200 – 39%
One of the most explosive running backs in the NFL gets to face the team that gave up 290 rush yards and 4 TD’s last week to the above average backfield of the Bears. I understand the offenses are not the same, but Bijan also had 8 targets for 90 yards receiving last week and a TD to go along with 20 rushes for 80 yards, so he has the highest floor of any RB with a crazy high ceiling.
Derrick Henry- $7200 – 27%
The ravens offense is going to flow through Lamar and Henry today with the injuries to their WR, and we just saw King Henry get 150 all purpose yards and score 3 TD’s last week against the Colts, while the Saints let Gibbs run for over 100 and 2 TD’s last week themselves.
Javonte Williams – $6400 – 25%
He is going to be way more popular this week than I expected a few days ago, but his usage is crazy high to go along with being able to catch the ball too. We saw Barkley run for 85 on this defense last week, and I expect the Dallas offense to truly show out after last week’s performance.
WIDE RECEIVERS
Justin Jefferson – $7800 – 15%
Went 7-90-2TD last week with Wentz leading the way, and the bears gave up 350 passing yards to Bryce Young so I would expect another solid showing from an offense facing them. Their defense is hurt and Jefferson is gonna get a higher target share than almost any WR.
George Pickens – $6300 – 15%
I think we see him torch the Washington defense in a similar fashion to what Wicks did to them last week, but he is a better WR with a better QB who will push the ball down the field consistently.
Devaughn Vele – $4200 – 5%
He is too cheap for his role, in a game where they will be behind and having to throw and Olave having a minor hamstring issue makes his ceiling even higher. Until he is priced up, he is going to smash value week in and out at these cheap prices.
TIGHT END
Trey McBride – $6900 – 7%
He was under 2% owned last week for his 9-90-1td game, and now he is moving all the way up to 6%. Much tougher matchup, but Seattle gave up 6 catches to TE last week and a TD, so you would assume McBride can do his thing once again.
Colston Loveland – $5000 – 16%
No way they don’t get him involved this week. Minnesota blitzed a an 80% clip last week, which if they are psychos and do that again Caleb will need to get rid of the ball quickly and the TE over the middle sounds like the perfect safety blanket here.
Dalton Schultz – $3200 – 31%
The uber chalk TE play with Nico out this week and coming off of 5 catches last week. His prop is 5 catches for 50ish yards so 3X just on projections of that from the Vegas lines, tough to not just click and move on. Njoku would be a pivot off of him if we knew Ladd was going to miss, but trending to play in that game we side with chalk Schultz here.
DST
PHI – $3700 – 9%
Cam Ward is not good, the Titans as a whole are not good, and Philly will be able to dial up pressure. Oddly enough the 49ers are pulling ownership away from them so they are not as popular as I first thought they would be.
TB – $3600 – 14%
I mean, they get awful Cleveland with Watson at QB. We are going to target week in and out all season.
JAX – $2400 – 3%
Jags defense looked good last week, denver offense looked bad, and now they meet. Jags are cheap enough where even a game that they give up 17-20 points but get a handful of sacks, they still hit value.
