Jose is not only stepping up on short notice, but also has a quick turnaround. I just watched him live in OKC a month ago. Jose is definitely good but I don’t see him winning here. He won’t be cleaner, faster or more powerful. He won’t have the better cardio, he won’t have the better wrestling and he doesn’t have more experience. Jean Silva should have a very straight forward win in a fight that features a Brazilian vs. an American on Mexico’s Independence Day.
Jean Silva
Jean Silva is a powerful striker who is loose and creative. The creativity is fun to watch but does get him into weird positions at times. He is interesting he will go from a tight guard to loose hands down but he does alternate between the two often enough to get people guessing. He gets very aggressive to find finishes but lacks defense and can be hit. He has wrestling in his back pocket which we just saw in his fight against Arnold Allen.
Jose Delgado
Jose Delgado is is rangy striker who uses kicks to stay outside. When he comes in he fights well inside the pocket with power and Mike Tyson style upper body movement. He can grapple as well with solid takedowns and ground and pound but his takedown defense definitely has some holes. He has great power and will take chances with spinning techniques. Overall he is a well rounded kid who has a bunch of finish wins. He is coming off the close decision win over Austin Bashi just a month ago.
