If Dan Ige was your favorite fighter, just know that he is now at the point in his career where the UFC will be using him to build up young starts. Any favor he earned by stepping up on short notice at ufc 303 is now gone. This is set up to get David Martinez another win over an established guy and thats exactly what will happen. David is too busy, too active, has too much power and too much speed to lose here. Dan is a gamer and also hits hard, but i think he will be a step behind and even if he does connect, David has a great chin. I think Martinez wins here and should be a pretty straight forward decision.

David Martinez

David Martinez is a very mobile striker. He moves a lot like Dominic Cruz where he is constantly moving and changing angles. He does a nice job picking his shots and setting things up. He can be low volume, but because of his movement you almost don’t notice. He has great leg kicks to slow down his opponents and solid power when he throws. He also has well timed takedowns that can catch people off guard. He is coming off the decision win over Chito Vera.

Dan Ige

Dan Ige is a fantastic kickboxer with speed and power. He also has solid BJJ and underrated wrestling. His takedown defense may look low at 56% but he has only fought killers the last couple of years and most of them are looking to take him down at some point in the fight. He is a very durable guy and a tough night for anyone. Getting him out of there is almost impossible so you need to be ready for a full 15 minute war. It however was not impossible in his last fight where he was KO’d in spectacular fashion by Melk Costa
