Mario is the pick here. He is just as big, almost as dangerous and has a full 15 minutes of cardio. But if you were one of the many people screaming after his last fight that he’s not that good, he’s a future fade and that he’s overrated, then keep that energy because even though Ryan Spann has quit in him and you don’t know if he will show up fat or in shape, he’s still dangerous as hell and can finish anyone on any given night. I personally am on the Mario side and trust that he can weather an early storm then find a finish.
Mario Pinto
Mario Pinto is a technical striker who takes his time to find a rhythm before settling in and letting his hands go. He does a nice job working leg kicks as well. His striking defense is interesting where he tends to lean his head back to avoid strikes instead of footwork, but he is definitely talented. He can grapple as well with solid takedown defense and really good top work if he ends up there. He is coming off the decision win over Felipe Franco where he was getting hit so decided to wrestle.
Ryan Spann
Ryan Spann is a 6’5 powerhouse with an incredible reach. He’s very dangerous with 21 stoppages in his 24 wins but he’s not all power, he also wrestles and averages more than 1 takedown per fight and can snatch up submissions from anywhere. 14 of his stoppage wins are by submission but that might be hard to come by here. Ryan Spann is incredibly dangerous but can be sloppy and does fade quick. He is coming off the KO win over a struggling Marcus Buchecha
