This is almost a mirror image of MarQuel's last fight, a really tough guy who isn't amazing technically but is very tough with fantastic pressure. Except Mason Jones is a special kind of savage that will makes fights as ugly as humanly possible. MarQuel is almost too technical and too athletic for a matchup like this. I don't think he will like the pressure or the grit of this fight. MarQuel's only real path is to touch and go with every strike, but even that won't work because Mason will eat whatever shots he needs to in order to close the distance. Mason is the pick and I think we get more of his patented chaos.
MarQuel Mederos
Marquel Mederos is a very good striker who strings together combinations and throws up volume. He is insanely comfortable in his fights and flows very well. He is primarily a striker but he can grapple with slick takedowns, slicks takedown defense and slick submissions. He is very athletic and has fantastic fight IQ. He is coming off the draw with Chris Padilla where he had a point deducted for a 3rd round eye poke.
Mason Jones
Mason Jones is an aggressive striker with nice boxing and great takedowns. He has a fantastic 73% takedown defense and if he gets taken down het gets back up and immediately starts working. He also has his own solid takedowns with an average of almost 4 takedowns per fight and has 10 takedowns in his last 3 fights. He is all time tough and an absolute awful night out for anyone. He is coming off the fight of the night war with Axel Sola.
