I think Islam wins this fight and I think he does it in the most obvious way possible. He comes forward, gets takedowns and stays on top. I think its a decision and I think it is almost as boring as his last fight. With that being said, Ian might be the cringiest guy in MMA right now, but he is good and he is smart. I have no doubt in my mind that he is already the better striker and he will be well prepared for the wrestling and BJJ. We've already seen the evolution of it. It started with wrestling Neil Magny, then wrestling Venom Page, then defending 8 of Shavkat's takedowns, getting 4 of his own against Prates and defending all 7 of Belal's. I mention this because people are going crazy betting on Islam, and again, I think he wins this fight, but I fully recognize how good Ian is, the length he has has and the fact that if he has some success on the feet, a progressive couple of judges may not care about the control time.

Islam Makhachev

Islam Makhachev is an Insane wrestler with very good hands. His grappling is aggressive and he is always looking to advance, punish or finish. He doesn't just camp out looking for a decision win. He averages more than 3 takedowns per fight and while that may seem low for a dominant wrestler, it is a reminder for how good he actually is. When he takes you down, you stay down. He is coming off the dominant decision win over JDM to become the welterweight champion of the world.

Ian Machado Garry

Ian Garry is a solid striker with crazy hand speed and fantastic footwork. He lands an impressive almost 5 signifigant strikes per minute and has solid enough takedown defense to keep most fights standing. While he does have power, it is not necesarily one punch KO power, its more timing and speed that catches his opponents off guard. He has been training with Chute Box for a little while now and while they haven't bestowed their signature aggression upon him, they have improved his grappling quite a bit. He is coming off the decision win over Belal Muhammed where he controlled the striking and defended the takedowns.
