I came in here wanting to pick Charles. First of all, I like the guy. How could you not like someone who fights as often as him or has his own identity like he does? Second of all, he's good. He has very good striking, decent takedown defense and he's not afraid to engage. The issue though is that he takes a round to get going and Jose isn't the guy to wait on. If Charles is wasting time guaging distance, Jose will have landed 10 strikes before one comes back. Charles is probably a bit more well rounded and certianly has more experience, but this may come down to who engages first and in that style fight, I have to go with Jose. I don't love these odds, I think Charles is a great dog here, but I have to pick Jose.

Charles Johnson

Charles Johnson is a busy, technical striker with decent takedown defense and really nice hand speed. He has nice output at almost 5 significant strikes per minute and can keep that pace for 15 minutes. He is 8-6 in the ufc but all 6 losses are to quality fighters and the 8 wins are against young prospects, including the currently flyweight world champion Joshua Van. He is one of the more active fighters on the roster and is coming off the insane Banana Split loss to Asu Almabayev

Jose Ochoa

Jose Ochoa is a well rounded guy who is happy to slug it out or work in grappling. His takedown defense is just ok but he does a great job defending the actual takedown instead of working in random pitter patter strikes or looking for submissions that aren't there. He has finishes on the feet but that has more to do with his incredible pressure and volume than it does raw power. He can be hittable but he's durable enough to hang. He is coming off the high presure win over Clayton Carpenter where he landed an insane 156 significant strikes.
