If Guilherme comes in here and uses his athleticism to bounce around, touch, go and never stay in the pocket, he could absolutely win this fight. He is faster and far more athletic. But a tiger doesn't change his stripes and that isn't who Guilherme isn't that guy. He will stand there, do nothing, then try some spinning shit, it won't work and Steven will grit hs way to a win. Steven definitely just moves forward, stays busy, throws hard and wins here. I'm fairly confident in that and I am not worried about the wrestling of Guilherme.
Steven Asplund
Steven Asplund is a massive guy who went from 500lbs to 260 and he did it the old fashion way. No shot, no surgery, just hard work. And doing it the old fashion way means that for a big guy he has great cardio, pressure and power. Style wise, he has a decent jab and good striking volume. He is pretty durable but can be taken down. He is winning fights with will power and cardio and certainly not his natural athleticism. He is coming off the decision loss to Vitor Petrino where he dropped him 3 times, but couldn't defend the takedowns.
Guilherme Pat
Guilherme Pat is fast, jacked and a solid striker. He has a wide karate style stance and is constantly bouncing on his toes before he leaps into his strikes. It's not a style you typically see with heavyweights but it is working for him so far. His ability to bounce in, strike, then bounce back out is impressive for a heavyweight. His takedown defense however is not impressive. Neither is his sense of urgency. While you will get flashes of activity from him, he is also perfectly fine being held against the cage or waiting too long to actually do something. He is coming off the decision loss to Thomas Petersen where the hesitancy was his issue.
