We are heading into UFC Fight Belgrade where we have Uros Medic headlining against the recently released inmate Daniel Rodriguez. They added like 5 fights in the last week or so to get this card up to 14 fights, and we have a lot of newcomers who the data is sketchy on so we will have to hope it pans out, but 14 fights is elite for DFS.
For anyone who hasn’t read this article before, this series will be released every week on Thursday and will cover the slate by isolating the fighters that I like within the various salary groups. $9,000+ PRICE POINT
Mateusz Rebecki
He will be non stop, pedal to the metal all fight looking for takedowns, strikes, and always hunting for a finish. Inevitably he will get cut open and bleed like a stuck pig, but Prepolec is just above average and I think Mateusz will pressure him into a mistake and find a win.
Aleksandar Rakic
Tybura is definitely on the way out at 40 years old, and Rakic is moving up from LHW to the big boy weight class, where he will look to revamp the last few years of his career. I think we will see more of this for the guys who are middling or fading out of the LHW division, because they should be able to bulk up a little and be more athletic. Rakic is very chinny, but Tybura really is not a KO threat, he is awful at offensive takedowns, and now fights a younger faster guy in Rakic.
Michael Oliveira
He has a huge 6 inch reach advantage here, and is a very aggressive striker coming in averaging over 8 significant strikes per minute. Elliot should struggle here due to the range and distance striking, and if Oliveira lands flush, Oban is going out.
$8,000 – $8,900 PRICE POINT
Ludovit Klein
Klein is really good. Fought through a broken ankle last fight, is 5 years younger, 3 inch reach advantage, and double the significant strikes per minute output on the feet. Tofiq will be trying to get this fight to the ground, and I think we will see Klein find a finish here and just beat the brakes off of Tofiq.
Jovan Leka
He is taking on someone who is stepping up a weight class, so he will have a big size advantage. Leka will be the big bruiser going against someone who will try to be more athletic and get the fight to the ground, but Leka’s naturally size should play a huge factor.
Robert Valetin
.He has the reach, is slightly younger, and should have more power. He also has the higher upside for wrestling and getting the fight to the mat, and he will spend the entire fight trying to find a finish, so I will side with the guy who should succeed in the chaos of the fight on Saturday.
Under $8,000 PRICE POINT
Dennis Buzukja
Grad is a little undersized, overhyped, and everything he does in the cage, Dennis does just a little bit better. Higher output, more submission attempts, so it will come down to him initiating the wrestling and not letting Bogdan dictate the pace and where the fight takes place, in a win he should score well with his wrestling approach to fights.
Jan Blachowicz
Navajo has been somewhat pushed and tested, but this is a huge step up in competition against the former champ who has crazy power. Stirling has not really been inside the cage with someone of this caliber, albeit Jan is now 43 and a 15 year age gap does not bode well historically, but all we need is 1 punch to land correctly and he scores 80+ at a cheap salary.
Daniel Rodriguez
He just has to not get caught and KO’d, and he should score well here. Medic is super dangerous, but D-rod is a very good boxer and has a higher output while showing he is very durable over the course of the last few years. He probably will need to wrestle which would score well for DK purposes.
