These guys are the same fighter. They both throw punches from their hips, they both chase knockouts and they both have only beaten regional bums. There is absolutely no way to be confident in any direction for this fight. Levi definitely has more power but Felipe is the more well rounded guy who will actively look to wrestle. I'm going to pick the dog here. Felipe just fought a pretty solid Mario Pinto and if things get weird, he will shoot a takedown. But please, do absolutely nothing with that information. No bet whatsoever. Just watch and enjoy what will be a sloppy slug fight.
Felipe Franco
Felipe Franco is a grappler who wings punches like crazy, then shoots a takedown and then chills. He has finishes on his record but they are mostly against horrendous competition. He has solid top control when he is on the ground with good pressure. His striking is pretty bad but he throws hard. Physically he is a beast, but as we saw in his contender series fight, he can be more hammer than nail when he lost a fight that he was winning with 12 seconds left. He is coming off the decision loss to Mario Pinto in his UFC debut
Levi Rodrigues Jr.
Levi Rodrigues Jr. is a heavy handed guy who fights like its 2001. He walks forward and throws baseballs wth both hands. Every single punch is with 100% effort and from his hips. He has solid takedown defense and does a really nice job stuffing the takedown and then throwing bombs instead of pitter patter while defending. You will not see much grappling out of him, but if he ends up on top, he is immediately raining down hammer fists and looking to get you out of there. He is coming off the contender series win that was turned to a no contest because of a failed drug test
