Alvin Hines is notably coming back from a year long suspension for pissing hot. He had multiple banned substances in his system, including anabolic steroids. The reason he only got a 1 year suspension instead of a 2, is because he was taking the illegal drugs out of competition and before he was signed to the UFC. To me, thats a bit weird. You do the steroids, you get the suspension, doesn't seem like it should matter when you did them. Either way, kind of a cupcake deal and this is kind of a cupcake fight. RJ is big and tough, but not good and while Alvin isn't good either, he is insanely tough, has great cardio and can wrestle. I expect Alvin to move forward, not get knocked out by a couple wild punches and then get this fight to the ground and take over. Also, this is somewhat short notice for RJ
Alvin Hines
Alvin Hines is a steroid using heavyweight who comes forward and throws sloppy, but heavy, 1-2s and then immediately looks to wrestle off the cage. He is slow, but strong and gritty. If he gets you to the ground he has solid presure and no issues playing the jiu jitsu game. He is incredibly tough and can take a beating for a full 15 minutes without slowing down. He is coming off the decision loss to Jhonata Diniz a year ago.
RJ Harris
RJ Harris is a big dude who swings like a big dude. No one will ever watch an RJ Harris fight and say “wow, what a clean combination he threw”. But they will watch it and say “that big dude just knocked out that fat guy” and they'll say that because RJ does have power in his hands and has finished a bunch of people that don't really look like they should be professional fighters. RJ doesn't have clean technique but he is big, strong and willing to bang. He has a handful of submission, but it's mostly him leaning over and grabbing thing on the feet because he is so tall.
