This is a really tough fight to break down because I think Tracy Cortez is overrated as a fighter, but her wrestling is probably perfectly rated. Then again, this fight is in Las Vagas, where wrestling doesn't matter so even if Tracy has takedowns, they may not care. Cong's striking will be lightyears ahead of Tracy's but even Eduarda Moura had 8 minutes of control. I don't think this fight will be close. I think we either get Tracy laying on top for a boring 15 minutes, or Cong absolutely destroying her face. The problem is, I'm not fully convinced of either side yet. But if I take a step back, shake off my inherit wrestling bias, I'll pick Cong. She is the more dangerous fighter, she has the finish upside and she will look like she's trying to win to the judges where Tracy will look like she is panic wrestling.

Tracy Cortez

Tracy Cortez is a fantastic wrestler and grappler. She is listed has having a positive striking differential but that is a misleading number and her striking is not very good. Her striking is technical and busy but not powerful. Her takedowns however are clean and when she gets to the ground she has great control. Despite having incredible BJJ she isn't very dangerous and relies on her wrestling and cardio to grind out wins. She is coming off the submission loss to Erin Blanchfield where she did have a takedown.

Cong Wang

Cong Wang is a professional kickboxer who made the leap to MMA. I mention this every time I break Cong down, but just a reminder she beat Valentina Shevchenko in kickboxing. She fights exactly how you would expect a decorated kickboxer to fight. She has incredible striking with power and speed and now it looks like she has a handful of takedowns as well. So far her takedown defense has looked solid, but she hasn't fought anyone great yet. She is coming off the decision win over Eduarda Moura where she was taken down 3 times, but landed clean and had a knockdown.
