Luis Gurule is coming of this first UFC win and immediately flying to the other side of the world to fight a wrestler. And this isn't the first time he will be fighting someone who is looking to only take him down. His contender series win was against Nick Piccininni where he was taken down and insane 10 times. You could probably make the argument that Luis is the more well rounded fighter, but that won't matter here. He will have some success striking and then be taken down and likely held down. Luis relies on his ability to outwork people, but I don't see that happening because Rei has his own solid cardio and ths turnaround may have Gurule feeling sluggish.
Rei Tsuruya
Rei Tsuruya is a nasty grappler with decent hands. His takedowns are slick and big. He will take your back standing, pick you up and slam you to the ground. He will instantly transition to ground and pound and look for the finish. He has plenty of cardio, plenty of composure and is a guy that can really make something happen if he improves his striking. He is coming off the UFC 313 loss to Joshua Van where he had the takedowns but couldn't do anything with them.
Luis Gurule
Luis Gurule is a forward pressure striker who bounces around before leaping in and striking. He's aggressive both on the feet and on the ground with decent power. he's in good enough shape to push a face for 15 full minutes and never take a step backwards. He can grapple as well with solid top pressure and submissions but mostly looking for bully takedowns and then ground and pound. If he ends up being taken down he still has that gas tank to work up. He is coming off his first UFC win which was a fun back and forth over Daniel Barez just a few weeks ago.
