This is another pretty confident spot for me. While I feel a lot of these Cage Warrior guys are absolute crap, Luke is seemingly the real deal. i like to see a fighter deal with adversity because you never really know how good a fighter is until you see them work through different scenerios. How many times have we seen a hyped prospect smoke people on the regional scene just to get to the UFC and lay an egg. So watching Luke get taken down and pushed around by Bogdan but stay composed enough to finish has me pretty confident that he wins here. I expect him to be the much cleaner and faster striker so it may come down to cardio or takedown defense if Aswell mixes it up. In any of those scenerios I am pretty confident he wins.
Luke Riley
Luke Riley is a carbon copy of almost every other Cage Warrior fighter. He is a fast athletic striker who does everything possible to keep fights on the feet. He has plenty of finishes and does a really good job doing damage in the clinch. The takedown defense is decent and if he is taken down, he stays busy and looks to work up. His combinations are impressive where he works your body and head in the same exchange. Overall he is a fun fighter and one of the better english signings. He is coming off the KO win over Bogdan Grad he was taken down 4 times but kept his composure
Michael Aswell Jr.
Michael Aswell is a forward pressure striker who always has a jab out there. He is tough as nails and literally doesn't stop moving forward. His striking defense isn't what you would want it to be, but his offense is so intense, that it doesn't matter. He can grapple as well but its never his plan A. He's a tough guy who stays busy and will make his opponents work. He is coming off his first UFC win after tough outing on the Center Series and short notice loss to Bolaji Oki.
