Jose Medina is the perfect person to use as an example of regional MMA vs UFC level. On the regional scene he was 11-2 with 10 stoppages. In the UFC he is 0-4 and canot find success. He is clearly being used here to build up Gandra. Basically collecting a paycheck to be on the wrong side of a highlight reel. And thats likely what happens. Gandra comes in, swings like crazy, runs forward and gets the win. But just like Medina was exposed for not being UFC level, the ame may happen with Gandra. But Obviulsy Gandra will be the pick and maybe a random sneaky bet could be over 1.5 because despite the losing streak, Medina is tough.
Jose Medina
Jose Medina is a ground and pound fighter with decent striking and dangerous top work. When he is striking he has clean boxing but nothing too crazy. He isn't particularly powerful or fast, but his hands are in the right places at the right times and he keeps it tight. His takedowns are also just ok, but when he ends up on top he does an awesome job maintaining positions and doling out damage. He is coming off his 4th loss in a row, this time a submission to Dusko Todorovic.
Ryan Gandra
Ryan Gandra is a busy forward pressure striker who only moves in one direction and lets his hands go. He is very hittable but for every shot he eats, he throws two back your way. If her can get you against the cage he won't look for a takedown and instead will launch pucnhes at your face from his hip. While he prefers to strike, he isn't completely clueless in the grappling department. He can defend takedowns well and if he gets his own he does a great job keep control and still striking.
