I will start this by saying wait for weigh-ins to place bets and honestly check back here to make sure I don't change my pick after weigh-ins. Because we don't know how fat Tai will be and thats the deciding factor. That big bastard was enormous just a few months ago. Now I am to expect he shows up after losing 50-100lbs and slings leather? If this was normal Tai, who hasn't been gaining weight and opening breweries, i would focus on his skills and chin. But not that he is seemingly checked out and occupied with extracurricular activities, this is a tougher breakdown. Tai is fun and dangerous, but he's been falling behind on scorecards and getting finished. We did just see Tallison get KOd, but if he stays in Tai's face, makes him work, he can find the win here. I am going to slight lean Tallison here, but he might be a fraud and I think the entire world will be rooting for a Shoey.
Tai Tuivasa
Tai Tuivasa is a heavy handed striker with solid volume and great low kicks well. He has always been fast and powerful for his size but he is also sharp and composed. Tuivasa has fantastic leg kicks, a piercing jab and a big overhand. His takedown defense is almost non-existent and has zero offensive takedowns in the UFC. You used to be able to argue that Tuivasa's biggest asset was his chin, but that seems to be on its way out with 2 knockouts in his 5 fight losing skid.
Tallison Teixeira
Tallison Teixeira is a massive guy at 6'8 and he has been running through everyone outside of Derrick Lewis. If you do your tape study and take it at face value, it looks like Tallison is an absolute killer. He is massive, fast and powerful. He is athletic for his size and seems to use it well. If you look at the fights a little closer you will see that he has had the highest level of competition. When he finally did fight at a high level, he was knocked out by Derrick Lewis.
