This was originally supposed to be Alexa Grasso taking on Rose Namajunas, but Alexa fell out and Natalia stepping in. I honestly think this is a more intriguing matchup and likely sets Natalia up for a title shot. This is a great fight between two women with similar styles. Both are clean strikers with solid footwork but I am going to lean Natalia here. i think she is a little faster and that speed difference will control the range. If Rose decides to wrestle, which she might, like she has done in her last 4 fights, i don't think it will make a difference because Natalia's takedown defense is spectacular and the judges may actually hate the attempts from Rose. Natalia is the pick and we don't have odds yet, but if for some random reason she is the dog, I will grab that.
Natalia Silva
Natalia SIlva is a well rounded fighter who is always fun to watch. She has technical striking but will occasionally wing punches from her hips and work in spinning attacks. She does a good job baiting opponents into a striking match before committing to wrestling. She has solid upper body takedowns and then good control on top. She doesn't have a ton of power, but her footwork and timing have gotten her a pair of UFC finishes. She is coming off the one sided striking win over Alexa Grasso
Rose Namajunas
Rose Namajunas is the former strawweight champion but has been hanging around flyweight for the last couple of years. Rose is a very good fighter everywhere and arguably the more well rounded fighter in this matchup. She has excellent striking, very good wrestling an solid BJJ. Rose has great footwork and deceiving power. She has wins over Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Teceia Torres, Jessica Andrade and Weili twice. As much as she can be a bit out there mentally, she shows up on fight night. She is coming off the decision win over Miranda Maverick
