We saw in the Brundage fight that Mansur may not be the absolute destroyer that we thought he was, but he is certainly still good enough to smack the hell out of Antonio Trocoli. And thats coming from someone who thought Trocoli was actually decent. Turns out, he's not decent or UFC level. Even with his mediocre striking, Mansur should be able to out work Trocoli on the feet and certainly ground and pound his way to a win if he chooses that.
Mansur Abdul-Malik
Mansur Abdul-Malik is a very good grappler with college wrestling experience. He fights as you would expect a D1 wrestler to fight. He comes forward, throws heavy and then wrestles. His takedowns are big and clean and his striking is powerful. He does a nice job lifting when he needs to and has great control on the ground. He also has great elbows from top and will work. He is coming off the no contest against Cody Brundage which was originally stopped from an accidental head butt so they went to the judges scorecards, but it was later determined that the Georgia commission doesn't allow scoring of incomplete rounds, so the fight was ruled a draw.
Antonio Trocoli
Antonio Trocoli is a tall, long guy who comes forward striking and once the distance is closed he looks to grapple. He doesn't look like he has great power, but he has plenty of knockdowns and knockouts because of his length and his ability to hit you so far outside the pocket. His takedowns are mostly trips and Uchi Madas but once he gets you to the ground he is an aggressive grappler who uses that length to lock up chokes. He is coming off the guillotine loss to Treason Gore.
