At first glance the -225 for Jacqueline seemed absurd, but as long as she can keep this fight on the feet, that price tag will be ok. She is the much better striker and can piece Mayra up. The problem is, I am not 100% convinced that she can keep the fight standing. If the raging panda can take her down off a caught kick, I imagine Mayra can do something similar. Luckily for us the world has decided that takedowns in MMA don't mean a goddamn thing so as long as she stays safe, Cavalcanti wins and is the pick.
Mayra Bueno Silva
Mayra Bueno Silva is a pretty good striker with solid power and good kicks. She likes charging forward and throwing from there. She's a very good grappler as well but like so many others, the problem is she doesn't have very good wrestling so even if she wants to get it to the ground to grapple, she may not be able to. She is one of the more dangerous women in the division especially on the ground. She is coming off her third loss in a row, most recently to Jasmine Jasudavicius where she threw up submissions and prayed.
Jacqueline Cavalcanti
Jacqueline Calvacante is a long striker who uses footwork and faints to manage range. She does a good job working your legs early to slow you down and then working up to the head. She keeps her striking technical and when she finds a rhythm she works forward, pressures and will even look for the occasional takedown. When she is moving forward she can be effective, but she does not back up well. She is very big for the weight class and has clean 1-2s. She is coming off the win over Julia Avila where she was taken down but remained defensively sound.
