I was surprised to see Nathaniel as a dog here. I understand that Delgado is an insane finisher, but Nathaniel is very good with a great resume. He has wins over Josh Castaneda, Charles Rosa, Charles Jourdain, Andre Fili and now Morgan Charriere. Each one of those wins are better than Jose's best win and obviously MMA math is dumb but the point I'm making here is that in a relatively close fight skill wise, experience matters. I think Nathaniel is the faster fighter, the busier fighter and certainly the more experienced. Jose has only been a hammer and I am interested to see what happens when he backs up as the nail. Nathaniel is the pick and I threw a half a unit on him at +133.
Jose Delgado
Jose Delgado is is rangy striker who uses kicks to stay outside. When he comes in he fights well inside the pocket with power and Mike Tyson style upper body movement. He can grapple as well with solid takedowns and ground and pound but his takedown defense definitely has some holes. He has great power and will take chances with spinning techniques. Overall he is a well rounded kid who has all finish wins. He is coming off the massive knee KO win over Hyder Amil.
Nathaniel Wood
Nathaniel Wood is a good striker with solid power and a great dirty boxing game. But he can grapple as well with takedowns in 9 of his 12 UFC fights and submissions in 3 of them. He has slick upper body takedowns and great control on the ground. He has great volume with around 6 significant strikes per minute and an impressive 72% takedown defense. He he is coming off the decision win over Morgan Charriere where he had lots of leg kicks early and dropped Morgan.
