As you all know this was supposed to be RDR vs Fluffy in a title eliminator matchup. With Fluffy being injured, Brendan Allen stepped in. I don't know if this is still officially a title eliminator, but I imagine with an impressive win, the case could be made.
I was going to pick RDR against fluffy and I am definitely picking him against Allen. I think RDR should get the title shot against Chimaev and it makes for a compelling matchup because of how tremendous he is. RDR showed us what kind of dog he can be. We know he has wrestling, we know how big those knees are and we know he is a good grappling. i think Brendan struggles with the size and general power. RDR is only -183 and I am a bit surprised, especially considering this is somewhat short notice for Brendan
Reinier de Ridder
Reinier de Ridder is a former two division champion in One FC. He is a solid grappler with good takedowns and great submissions. He is a very tall guy for the division and uses that length well on the ground. He will bomb away on the feet and while it is not very clean, he has an insane jump in knee and everything he does is heavy. He is coming off the war with Robert Whittaker where his sheer size was a problem
Brendan Allen
Brendan Allen is a BJJ black belt with solid low kicks, solid takedowns and solid striking overall. He has had a nice evolution in the octagon where he evolved from primarily a grappler to a well rounded MMA fighter. When Brendan is on, he looks fantastic. He has incredible cardio, nice striking and nice grappling. He is a better hammer than he is a nail, but does have dog in him. He is coming off the competitive win over Marvin Vettori
