Kevin Holland vs. Mike Malott

HOLLAND VS MALOTT

After a couple of solid wins at 170 we are back to reminding everyone how insanely unreliable Kevin Holland is. He has all the talent in the world and can finish a fight anywhere but he seemingly just does not care. Losing to an old used up Daniel Rodriguez was enough to push me towards Malott with little hesitation. Mike is the better wrestler, the harder worker and good enough to not get caught in some nonsense. I have forgiven him of his sins from the Magny fight and am picking him here. Honestly -130 seems like a discount when there is such a clear path to victory.

Kevin Holland

Kevin Holland is an accurate striker with very good jiu jitsu and mediocre wrestling. Other than the takedown defense, Kevin is a problem for a lot of people. He's a sniper on his feet with great accuracy and range. He can also grapple really well and be a competitive on the ground with his length. He is coming off the disappointing loss to Daniel Rodrguez where he got rocked twice and resorted to wrestling.

Mike Malott

Mike Mallot is a pretty well rounded guy. He has a very lose striking style which allows him to box and kickbox comfortably. He is technically sound and manages range well. He doesn't have any specific background so you can expect him to strike as well as grapple and wrestle. He has 7 fights under the UFC banner with 3 knockdowns, 2 KOs and 3 submissions wins. He is coming off the KO win over Charlie Radtke where he seemed to be fully recovered from the bran fart that was the Magny fight.
