Daniel Santos vs. Joo Sang Yoo

SANTOS VS YOO

We have an interesting situation with this fight. The betting odds are on the Santos side where Tapology is is very heavily on the Yoo side at 77%. That tells me that Yoo will be the public dog this week and we all know what happens when everyone is on the same dog. Well good news for you all, i'm not on the Yoo side. I get it, he's flashy, fun and talented, but who has he beaten? What makes us think he can do at this level what he has don't at the regional level? The pick is Santos, he is a dog, he has quality wins, he is on a quality team and I think we are reminded that regional wins and UFC wins are different.

Daniel Santos

Daniel Santos is an old school Chute Box style striker. He plots forward with very tight hands and when he hits the pocket, he explodes with power and speed. He doesn't have the greatest chin in the world, but like so many others on his team, when he gets dropped, he recovers very quickly like nothing happened. He has very good BJJ from bottom, but he can be taken down and even though his BJJ is good, its old school in that he will play in the guard off his back at times instead of using it to creates scrambles and working back up. He is coming off the decision win over the Korean Tiger where he had 6 takedowns

Joo Sang Yoo

Joo Sang Yoo is a great prospect. He has a very fluid striking style where he bounces on his toes and closes range with a wide stance. He switches from southpaw to orthodox and mixes up where he throws his punches. He has a Poaton-esque style with the wide stance and forward pressure while calculating his shots. While the striking is where he puts on his most exciting performances, he can grapple as well with clean takedowns and control. He is coming off the 28 second KO win over Jeka Saragih.
