Went into this wanted to pick Oban, but then i checked my notes from his last fight and rewatched it. If Oban was afraid of Ko's power and had no answer for the grappling, what the hell is he going to do here? Micallef isn't a world beater, but he's a capable grappler with power. So I am picking the dog here and wouldn't be surprised if these odds flip.
Jonathan Micallef
Jonathan Micallef is an ok striker and a very good wrestler. Striking is basic with a solid 1-2 and some distance closing to get the takedowns. On the ground he isn't looking to finish but he does have solid pressure and control. He is not particularly dangerous but he is solid and can do a good job controlling the pace. He is coming off the upset win over Kevin Joussett where he dropped that loser, landed more strikes and got him fired.
Oban Elliott
Oban Elliott is a well rounded guy with 15 full minutes of cardio and plenty of tools in the bag. When striking he likes to dance around the outside and then fire off overhands to come in. He is fast and athletic with flashy spins and ok takedown defense. If he is taken down there are definitely some grappling holes. He is coming off the decision loss to Seokhyeon Ko where he was takedown down 6 times and afraid of the power.
