This is a battle of a butt scooter and an old. So what do we value more? A fighter who actually fights or youth? Joaquim is a fighter, he gets after it, he engages in the chaos and he's incredibly tough. Puelles is a Jiu Jitsu nerd who would rather butt scoot than throw punches. The problem though is that if his takedowns are as good in this fight as they were in his last, he could have success and sneak out a win. I'm torn here. My gut won't let me say out loud that someone who wipes their ass on the carpet like a dog, can win this fight, so I won't say it. But i'm going to think it.

Claudio Puelles

Claudio Puelles is fantastic grappler who is dangerous anywhere on the ground. He has 3 knee-bar wins in the UFC which is the record. He is only 29 years old and has a good amount of experience. He is a grappler who uses kicks to keep the distance and is never out of a fight if he can get it to the ground. He averages around 3 takedowns per fight but he does have a negative striking differential almost 2-3. He is coming off the close loss to Fares Ziam where he had 7 takedowns and the wrestling looked improved.

Joaquim Silva

Joaquim Silva is a BJJ guy with fantastic hands and big power. He is very explosive and always looking for the KO. Even though he has a BJJ blackbelt and is more than capable on the ground, he isn't typically attempting takedowns and is mostly looking to strike. He has a ton of power and is live in every fight he is in. He is coming off the close loss to Drakar Klose where he had a knockdown but not the volume.
