I picked Kaue against Fares and you people came for my head. I am picking Kaue against hardwick and I am already seeing the same thing. I don't get the hate for Kaue. He can grapple. he can strike, he's busy, he has solid wins. I literally have no clue why people didn't love him as a dog before. I think this is a solid matchup. First, Kaue had a full fight camp, second, Hardwick is a 145lber, and third Hardwick is pretty open to leg kicks which Kaue is great at. So Kaue is the pick and my only real concern here would be a grapple heavy gameplan.
Harry Hardwick
Harry Hardwick is stepping up on a few days notice for his first crack at the UFC. He is a 145lber who will be fighting at 155. Style wise he is a stalky striker who will stand tall and pressure forward. As he walks forward he throws straight punches and will jump out of the pocket if you fire back. When things get dicey, he will tie up and look for a takedown. He is a long guy who uses his teap kicks well to back you up. He has a solid chin, but can get his legs chewed up.
Kaue Fernandes
Kaue Fernades is a loose and powerful striker who will bounce on his toes, stay outside the pocket and then lunge in with speed and power. Like many fighters at Novau Unaia he has slick BJJ and solid takedown defense as well. He does get flashy with his striking when he's comfortable and when he's focused, he can be technical as well. He is coming off the dominant win over Guram Kutaleadze where he won the grappling and striking.
