Nassourdine Imavov vs. Caio Borralho

IMAVOV VS BORRALHO

If you didn't hear Dana's announcement this fight, as well as the RDR Fluffy fight are both number 1 contender matchups so whoever has the more exciting win will fight Khamzat.

The line on this fight is about even and that makes sense. On one hand I think Imavov wins here. He is the better striker, has great forward pressure and his own grappling. on the other hand we watched Brendan Allen take him down with ease early. Caio is huge and can use his to wear on Nassourdine, but Nassourdine is the more well rounded and I think he squeaks out a close one. i don't anticipate this fight to be a barn burner, but hopefully the added pressure of a title fight will push them to engage. Side note, and maybe I am way off base here, but it feels like Caio is on a world popularity tour. He is at every event, hamming it up for the camera and doesn't seem to be grinding in the gym.

Nassourdine Imavov

Nassourdine Imavov is a busy striker who constantly works towards his opponents. He can strike and counter strike while moving forward. He has a nice jab, solid elbows and looks very comfortable mixing it up. He has takedowns and solid control when he wants to use them, which is not often. He averages fewer than 1 takedown per fight and doesn't rely on them often. He is coming off the KO win over Israel Adesanya where he came out with a grapple heavy gameplan, but wasn't successful until he landed the uppercut

Caio Borralho

Caio Borralho is a very slick grappler with solid submissions and well timed takedowns. He has a long stance and very loose feet where he will bounce around and then he explode into double legs. He has belts in both Judo and Jiu Jitsu and uses all of those techniques in his fights. Caio is quickly building a resume, but despite how dominant some of these wins are on paper, they are closer than they appear. He is coming off the decision win over Jared Cannonier where he was dominant moving forward but not as solid backing up.
