Price Point Picks: UFC Vegas 105

Best DraftKings Plays UFC Vegas 105

We are sitting at 13 fights again which is great for DFS. UFC Fight Night Vegas 105 has a handful of fun fights for us to pick from, being headlined by Josh Emmet and Lerone Murphy which will have big implications in the featherweight division’s rankings. The DWCS champ Torre Finney makes his long awaited UFC debut also, and all in all we have 3 ranked fighters fighting on the card looking to move forward on their paths to championship contention.

For anyone who hasn’t read this article before, this series will be released every week on Wednesday and will cover the slate by isolating the fighters that I like within the various salary groups. Please be aware that these plays are subject to change as the week goes on. $9,000+ PRICE POINT

KENNEDY NZECHUKWU

Kennedy has looked good so far at heavyweight and Buday kind of stinks. Kennedy will have a 6 inch reach advantage, averages 5.3 significant strikes per minute and will be the taller, rangier fighter who will have more output and can beat Buday both on the feet and if he gets him to the ground has shown the ability to finish with ground and pound and attempt submissions.

TORREZ FINNEY

Both of these guys are from the UFC’s tv shows/series getting new fighters onto the scene, and Finney is a meme joke from his build but has won 3 times on the Contender series and is undefeated as a pro. He will shoot takedowns, has amazing cardio, and will look to close the distance on the much taller Valentin to negate the 6 inch height disadvantage, even if it is only a 2 inch reach difference.

$8,000 – $8,900 PRICE POINT

CHANGHO LEE

Lee averages 5 significant strikes per minute, a takedown per round, is 4-1 in his last 5 and 10-1 overall as a pro. He has more output on the feet, shoots more takedowns, and looks to finish with ground and pound instead of submissions.

VANESSA DEMOPOULOS

This pick is due to Vanessa being the higher output fighter on the feet averaging almost 4 significant strikes per minute to Talita’s 2.5, the only thing she will have to be cognizant of is Alencar shooting takedowns once she can’t hang on the feet.

Under $8,000 PRICE POINT

DAVEY GRANT

Grant is fun to watch, always has entertaining fights where he looks to find a finish. If he can survive the early push of Santos I think we see him be the savvy vet who finds a way to get a finish late in the fight, whether it be a submission or a TKO finish. He averages 5.25 significant strikes per minute and has 2 inch reach advantage.

RHYS MCKEE

McKee has a 5 inch reach advantage, they both average right under 5 significant strikes per minute, neither are good at grappling, and this should be a pretty close fight with them both standing to stay standing and trade shots. I am siding with the dog who has the range and reach to pull the upset.
