This is the battle of the wish brothers. They are both budget brands and knockoffs and again, it is crazy to me how many low level fighters there are on a PPV with such a good main card. Junior Tafa is not very good and can be taken down. Valter Walker is absolutely horrible but can do some taking down. I think Valter can get the takedowns and win this fight. But if his cardio is the dumpster fire we saw in his last fight, he's screwed. Valter is the pick and these odds are enticing, but I just don't think its a wise decision.
Junior Tafa
Junior Tafa is a nasty kickboxer with power, footwork and a willingness to engage. He is Justin Tafa's younger brother but built very differently. He is long and lean instead of stocky with thunder thighs. He has the same power, the same chin, but is faster, more athletic and much more technical. The big question for any of these kickboxers coming to MMA is if the wrestling defense will hold up, and the answer to that question is not really. He is coming off the insanely short notice switch-a-roo loss to Marcos Rogerio de Lima.
Valter Walker
Valter Walker is Johnny Walker's brother and like Johnny, he is massive. He is 6 foot 6 and very imposing. But unlike his brother, he is controlled and looks to work forward cleanly instead of creating a mess while dancing. He is also more of a wrestler than a striker. He has spent a giant portion of his career in Russia where he has been grinding on the wrestling mats. His striking is not very good and he gets hit a ton but he doesn't care, he's looking to lower his level and shoot takedowns. He is coming off the absolutely horrendous UFC debut loss where he was exhausted after 45 seconds.
