Another week, and another lackluster performance by PickGPT. The good news is that the new version of PickGPT is rapidly being developed as we speak. This means Jacob and the other humans have limited remaining opportunities to beat PickGPT. Speaking of Jacob, congrats on going 10/13, and my condolences on the LOTW. Angelo said it best in his quick picks video, that is a terrible way to lose a bet. I concede this because no AI will ever be able to predict freak injuries like that, and neither will any human.
Anyways, the picks from the improved version of PickGPT will start to be released after extensive testing to ensure that it is indeed more accurate than the previous version, but let’s look at what has changed. First and foremost, the following data have been added for each fight in the training database:
- Fighter 1 takedowns landed per 15 minutes
- Fighter 2 takedowns landed per 15 minutes
- Fighter 1 takedown accuracy
- Fighter 2 takedown accuracy
- Fighter 1 takedown defense
- Fighter 2 takedown defense
- Fighter 1 takedowns absorbed per 15 minutes
- Fighter 2 takedowns absorbed per 15 minutes
- Fighter 1 submission attempts per 15 minutes
- Fighter 2 submission attempts per 15 minutes
- Fighter 1 control time percentage
- Fighter 2 control time percentage
This brings the total number of inputs per fight to 34. I have also broadened the hidden layers and added a third hidden layer. Finally, I pulled some statistical tricks to artificially double the size of the database. All of these changes have increased the historical accuracy to over 75%. The next changes planned are mainly structural and diagnostic to ensure that I am not overtraining on particular trends in the database. Additional data to be added included nationality, record, and strength of schedule.
Finally, please remember that PickGPT is in the BETA testing phase. Even if the level of performance recently has not inspired confidence, the level of transparency in these articles is meant to instill trust. Compare for instance, what you know about PickGPT from reading these articles to any other similar product on the market. More importantly, compare the cost of just $10 a month to the competitors and consider everything else that comes with it!
