Both of these guys are coming off similar losses where they couldn't handle their opponents striking pressure. The only real difference between the two is that when Taira fell behind, he did something about it and took shots. Albazi was perfectly content doing the same thing over and over for 25 minutes and giving up all 5 rounds. Now obviously there were some circumstances there with Albazi coming back after a few serious in juries and a long layoff, but if i have to sit here and pick a winner, I will go with the guy who I am positive will mix things up and use all of his tools to put himself in the bets possible position to win. I picked against Taira in his last fight because i knew what a dog Royval was, but Albazi isn't that same dog and I think Taira can outwork his way to a win.
Amir Albazi
Amir Albazi is a legit prospect with solid grappling, solid striking and a high pace. He has a very comfortable striking style where he is light on his toes and bounces in and out with a long jab. The fact that he is light on his toes allows him to very quickly lower his level and snatch up a leg. On the ground he is a very slick grappler and isn't just a wrestler looking for control. He will take risks, roll for positions and snatch things up. He is coming off the uneventful loss to Brandon Moreno where he couldn't get his striking or grappling going.
Tatsuro Taira
Tatsuro Taira is coming off his first career loss and is looking to reestablish himself as one of the best flyweight prospects on the planet. He is only 25 years old but has solid experience under his belt. Style wise he is a very patient striker with ok power in his hands and strong grappling. He does not have the best takedowns in the division but he will stick with them and drag you to the ground. He is coming off the close loss to Brandon Royval where he was behind on the striking but got 6 takedowns.
