UFC Orlando Fights To Target For FanDuel

Let’s talk about fights! More importantly, let’s talk about specific fights at UFC Orlando. This slate is absolutely stacked. In fact it very likely could be the most entertaining lineup of fights we have for the remainder of the year now that the main event has...

The biggest card of the year is in the books and it did not disappoint, but I will say that I had hoped for a little more out of the co main and main event, that is not to say they were bad but they were definitely not as competitive as I thought they would be.

KAROL ROSA cruised to a majority decision against LINA LANDSBERG in the curtain jerker, despite  being knocked down in the 1st round and losing a point in the 2nd due to an illegal strike to a grounded LANDSBERG.

Super prospect MOHAMMED MOKAEV finished MALCOM GORDON by arm bar in the 3rd round after facing some slight adversity in the 2nd, MOKAEV's wrestling was very dominant but he admitted afterwards that he underestimated GORDON who had his share of moments before getting finished, I look forward to seeing how high this young man's ceiling is, he is now 3-0 in his UFC campaign.

ARMENIAN PETROSYAN won a 30-27 unanimous decision victory over AJ DOBSON by out striking him at a 2 to 1 ratio. Dobson managed 3 takedowns but he simply did not throw enough offense while they were striking, this was a clear decision for Petrosyan but not quite as exciting as I thought it might be.

ABUBAKAR NURMAGOMEDOV cruised to a unanimous decision against GADZHI OMARGHADZHIEV with takedowns, ground control and a late knock down, it's like I said in my Rapid fire quick picks article, never a good idea to bet against the Nurmagomedov camp.

Nikita KRYLOV won a 30-27, 29-28×2, unanimous decision victory against VOLKON OEZDEMIR after getting badly rocked early in the 1st round. KRYLOV worked his takedowns and out struck OEZDEMIR pretty soundly for a clear win, he continues to impress.

CAIO BORRALHO won a unanimous decision victory over MAKMOUD MURADOV. BORRALHO largely dictated where the fight took place except for about two minutes in the 2nd when he was reversed and defending off of his back. He has yet to finish his opponents in the UFC but he has been rather dominant, he's now 3-0 in his UFC campaign and I look forward to his next outing.

BELAL MUHAMMAD bounces SEAN BRADY from the ranks of the undefeated with a late 2nd round standing TKO, it was a fantastic finishing fleury from Muhammad against the highly touted Brady who is is now 15-1 courtesy of Muhammad while Muhammad improves to 22-3 and continues to climb up towards a title shot.

MANON FIOROT outpointed KATLYN CHOOKAGIAN to a 29-28 unanimous decision victory, props to FIOROT who humbly admitted to DC Cormier afterwards  that she would need more experience before stepping up to a title shot against the queen VALENTINA SCHEVCHENKO.

BENEIL DARIUSH gets the upset unanimous decision victory over highly touted MATHEUSZ GAMROT, this was an awesome fight with beautiful jiujitsu scrambles and striking exchanges. DARIUSH is now on an 8 fight win streak and continues to be the LW division's dark horse. I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE what he does next. Congratulations to everyone who took the dog shot on him.

Suga Sean O'Malley wins a questionable split decision over PETR YAN in what was easily FOTN. These two amazing athletes threw down and pushed each other into deep waters, I thought YAN had done enough and I got the impression O'Malley was a little surprised that he got the nod but to be fair this was a tit for tat affair and O'Malley did bust him up  pretty good in the second round.  O'Malley proved he could compete with the #1 ranked bantamweight in the world as he scores the massive upset. Congratulations to him and anyone who took the dog shot on him.

ALJAMAIN STERLING successfully defended his title against TJ DILLASHAW who a suffered a dislocated shoulder early in the 1st and got  pummeled to a viscous ground and pound TKO in the 2nd round, ALJO looked fierce and he was fully in control of this one from start to finish, and still…

ISLAM MAKHACHEV won the Lightweight title when he head and armed choked Charles Oliver's in the 2nd round. MAKHACHEV won the first quite decisively and unfortunately for me my internet went out as the 2nd began but it came back on just in time for me to Charles tap due to the choke, as I said I was little surprised by how one sided this main event was but nonetheless we begin the Islam MAKHACHEV era at lightweight and I'm not sure who will be able to dethrone this man any time soon. Congratulations to him on a dominant win against a formidable opponent.

I thoroughly enjoyed the most anticipated card of the year and I look forward to next week's offering which appears to have quite a few evenly matched fights. Be sure to check out my rapid fire quick picks article for that one, right here at WE. WANT PICKS.
