It’s no secret that I loved “Road to UFC: Singapore”, the quarter finals of a tournament in which many fighters from across Asia fight for a UFC contract. There were many standout performances in the quarter finals and I am expecting some great fights when the semi...

That week off was both brutal and refreshing, but we are back for the layover card that is UFC Vegas 61. This event takes place at the Apex Center, but is rumored to be privately rented out by Mark Zuckerburg and friends, so no media or fans will be allowed in the...
UFC is back after the one week break and it’s a little bittersweet because we’re going on break next week as well. After this weird one card in three weeks schedule we get the final stretch of the year started with two more banger pay-per views left. This week it’s...

We are eager to bounce back after a shocking prediction performance last week. 5-7-1 is very uncharacteristic, and 1-2 on the best bets is not the level that you would be accustomed to if you have been following this article. Nonetheless I have used it as motivation to watch more tape and do a deeper dive into the upcoming UFC 278 card, and I am expecting the dividends of that work to pay off!
BEST BET #1 | Miranda Maverick H2H @$1.23
Miranda Maverick at just 25 years old is still a bright star in this sport despite her 3-2 record in the UFC. She is a former invicta champion and has a total of 14 fights, which is very good for a 25 year old fighter. She has gained a lot of her experience from her losses to Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber, the latter of which you can certainly argue that Maverick should have won.
Looking to establish herself within the flyweight division, she will face Shanna Young who won her Flyweight debut in her last fight against Gina Mazany. I feel like Maverick presents a lot more issues than Mazany could, because she is a lot faster and is a superior grappler in my opinion. I still believe in Maverick’s potential, and see her winning this fight comfortably.
BEST BET #2 | Merab Dvalishvili H2H @$1.80
Merab is a serious problem at 135 pounds. He was clipped in his last fight by Marlon Moraes, and of course his now opponent in Jose Aldo is a very dangerous striker that deserves our respect, but Merab is a tank and a wrestling machine that is capable of landing bulk takedowns on anyone in this division if he can close the distance. Wrestling in my opinion is the most important martial art in the sport because it dictates where the fight takes place, and for Merab, he just needs one takedown to get top control where he can land a barrage of ground and pound on the former champion.
Merab’s output is also something to behold, averaging a remarkable 7.3 takedowns on average on 45% accuracy, to pair with his 4.26 significant strikes landed per minute. He has vowed for over 3 takedowns, but I 3 is enough to win this matchup decisively. I will take him by decision because I respect Aldo’s skillset and durability too much to believe that he gets finished.
Best Bet #3 | Alexandr Romanov @$1.28
Marcin Tybura is an extremely durable heavyweight that has only been finished 4 times throughout his 29 fight career. He marches forward and likes to clinch up against his opponents, a game plan that has been relatively successful against his UFC opponents as he has amassed a record of 9-6. He has faced a lot of elite competition in those losses, such as Fabricio Werdum, Derrick Lewis and Alexander Volkov, but I fear that he is becoming a gatekeeper in this division.
Tybura draws Alexandr Romanov on this card, who I believe is one of the most dangerous men in the division and has a very high ceiling due to his 16-0 record, where he has finished 15 men and had a technical decision victory. He was not even touched in his last fight against Chase Sherman, and closed as the largest betting favorite in UFC history. Romanov will look to get this fight to the ground as he usually does, and land his menacing ground and pound strikes until the fight is stopped or a submission opportunity presents itself.
I believe that Romanov will pass this test with flying colors, winning by likely a brutal stoppage or perhaps a dominant decision. This will launch him into potentially the top 10 of the rankings, he is certainly one to watch.
Overs or Unders
There have been a ton of finishes lately and I am expecting that trend to continue! We’ve got some great value on a few plays here, if Yanan Wu is to win I would expect that under to cash. $3.35 is great value, and also loving an early Romanov stoppage too.
Thanks for tuning in once again, I hope you all enjoy the fights this weekend! If you are having a bet this weekend make sure you do your own research and gamble responsibly.
