I was shocked to see Jairinzo as the 2-1 underdog. I thought we all just watched Serghei lose to Volkov because he couldn't deal with a jab. Didn't we collectively decide that his technique isn't very good and he is just power? So why is he a massive favorite? Of course he can knockout Jairzinho, but this is heavyweights, they can all knock each other out. Jairzinho is an accomplished kickboxer who should be able to stay safe and touch Pavlovich up. Jarinzho is the pick and when BetOnline has the odds, I will be betting on him. Quick disclaimer, he did hop on one of our call in shows to field questions from fans so i might be biased here. But I genuinely don't think I am because he still trolls me in his instagram stories.
Sergei Pavlovich
Sergei Pavlovich is a beast of a striker. He's mostly a boxer but he has great power in his hands and incredible speed for a heavyweight. His striking volume is impressive and he trusts his chin enough to stand in the pocket and bomb away. Trusting his chin can be a problem in some matchups, as it was against Aspinall, but his speed will keep him one step ahead against most others at heavyweights. He has zero takedowns in the UFC and has only been taken down one single time so far. He is coming off the decision loss to Alexander Volkov where a simple jab mad eit impossible for Sergei to connect.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik
Jairzinho Rozenstruik is a very heavy handed striker. He is a Muay Thai striker by trade but style wise he is more of a counter striker who finds his range when you over commit. Similair to Serghei, you know what you are going to get when Jairzinho is in the cage. He has zero takedowns in the UFC and his takedown defense sits at 75%. He is coming off the decision win over Tai Tuivasa where he tripped the strikes and showcase technical skills.
