I'm a big Henry Cejudo fan. i even bought his book after he won the olympics and before he was in the UFC. But like many of my favorite fights from the last century, they get older, slower and start to lose. Before I pick against him here, let me remind you that Henry is an all time great. His nickname is Triple C because he was an olympic champion, flyweight champion and bantamweight champion, but then for reasons only he knows, he decided to step away from the sport at the height of his abilities and hasn't been able to find that same success. He is 38 years old in a division where age matters and i think it shows here. I think Song wins this fight and i think he looks better as it goes longer. Song is a much better striker and as long as he isn't too afraid of the takedowns to throw strikes, he should get his first win over a former champion.
Henry Cejudo
Henry Cejudo is an olympic gold medalist and the former 2 division UFC champion who retired mid title reign in 2020. While he is an Olympic wrestler his takedown accuracy is only 46% but he does have better striking than you would expect. He has a positive striking differential and will mix it up on the feet before working in shots. He is coming off the one sided loss to Merab Dvilishvili which looks better than ever.
Yadong Song
Song Yadong is a technical striker who moves well. He's fast, he hits hard and he's athletic, but he can be hittable at almost 4 significant strikes absorbed per minute. He throws everything with power which can leave him open to takedowns, but he's very good at creating space and getting back to his feet. He does like to dictate the pace, but did show us that even when fighting a very good grappler, like Ricky Simon, he will let his hands go and trusts his defense. He is coming off the loss to Petr Yan where he was able to defend 3 takedowns but did miss 7 of his own.
