UFC 289 may not be one the fans are salivating over, but we know these types of cards are the ones that deliver the best fights! There’s plenty of fun matchups throughout the card that I believe will be really interesting, here are some of my best bets for the event!
BEST BET #1 | Miranda Maverick H2H $1.28
Miranda is a prospect that I hold in very high regard. At 25, she has a lot of time to polish her well-rounded MMA skill set and put together a string of wins that can propel her into title contention, and I do believe that push can begin now after her back-to-back wins against Sabina Mazo and Shanna Young.
Miranda draws Jasmine Jasudavicius, who is a high volume grappler that is 3-1 in the promotion with all bouts going the distance. I see this matchup going the full 15, but Miranda’s experience against high caliber opponents and her more diverse range of attacks resulting in her hands getting raised.
BEST BET #2 | Marc-Andre Barriault H2H @$1.62
I really like the value we are getting with Marc-Andre Barriault this weekend. He is an active striker that can inflict a lot of punishment throughout a potential 15 minutes of action. He draws Eryk Anders, who has had mixed success in his UFC tenure to date. Anders loves to clinch in the cage, but I feel the movement of Barriault will create threatening angles that can be capitalized on.
I see Barriault pushing the pace, mixing up his shots to the leg and body to accumulate enough damage to stop the fight or to win a decision.
VALUE PICK #1 | Chris Curtis H2H @$2.25
Nassourine Imavov has a very diverse arsenal of attacks, with slick submissions and dangerous striking on the feet. The Frenchman is extremely versatile, but I feel he will get stuck in a kickboxing match against a dangerous brawler in Chris Curtis.
Curtis has knockout power particularly in his boxing combinations, and I feel like he can make this fight ugly inside the pocket and have a lot of success despite being the betting underdog in this high stakes Middleweight collision.
